I really love the sound of Play 5. It is balanced with all genres available in Spotify. Super easy to set up, always wowing guests who come visit me.

I got 2 for stereo. Loving it

One of the best standalone music speaker I have heard so far. Got it for my living room 2 years ago but I love it so much I moved it into my own room. Anyone who enjoys all genre of music should take a listen at this speaker!

By Questionable Purchaser on October 22, 2017

It is hard to justify purchasing something this expensive if you really do not need/want really crazy speakers. A $20 bluetooth one could do the job for small get togethers.I bought this for college. It is beyond worth it. I place it on my table and if the bass is slightly deep at a moderate volume I can feel vibrations. It is crisp and delivers powerful music. You can really crank it up too and just fill a room with loud while you enjoy some loud. While I do not get to use it at max very often, medium to medium high already gives quite a rich, pleasant experience daily. Setting up without a private wifi system was a bitch though. Buy this with the two sided jack if you plan on using your phone or computer with this if you are on public/shared wifi.I am definitely going to save up to buy the sub-woofers for when I move out and maybe another Play 5 just so I can feel real surround sound.

Great sound quality. Fills our entire single-level home with great sound- we have hard stone floors, so wasn't expecting much from the acoustics, but this is excellent. I purchased the Bose SoundTouch speakers for my office, and wish I would have gotten another of these instead.

The worst thjng about this is the flat and hollow soundThe next worst thing is the user interface that is not intuitive and cannot be easily programmedThen...when i tried desperately to get it to work or understand there was jo customer supportRather than continue the hassle i just returned itBig disappointment

Got it while on sale - $50.00 off. The sound is awesome!

By Hubert Kirchgaessner on October 14, 2017

Over the course of 3 years, I spent more than $2,500 on a whole-house Sonos system. Comprising three Play:5's, a Connect, a Sub-Woofer and a few other gadgets. Sound quality was excellent, installation simple, does everything it is supposed to do and then some. And that's the problem. Sonos recently updated their privacy policy, allowing themselves to collect voice information on my house and use it any way they want to (the latest Sonos have microphones in them). Excuse me? I am not giving you blanket permission to spy on me and my family.Needless to say, I refused to acknowledge this and refused the software upgrade. In return, Sonos bricked my $2,500 investment. I cannot get squat out of it. The arrogance of this company, the disdain in which they hold their customers, is unprecedented. I sold all the material and bought into another technology.

Amazing sound and easy setup!

Great sound with the Play 5, but my Stereo Pair constantly gives trouble, with the right speaker often kicking out, especially if any changes are made to the wireless service. Can't believe why pairing two speakers should be so difficult. When working, the music is great.Updated: Changed the channel on my router, which seems to have fixed the problam.

This speaker is my first Sonos, and I also ordered two Play:1s and I was going to order one more Play:5, but I ended up returning the two Play:1s and canceled my second Play:5. The reason? The Play:1s didn't sound that good at all, and there is no Google Home integration. While the Sonos Play:5 sounds really great, and it can play music from my Google Music All-Access subscription, I can not control the Sonos verbally from my Google Home devices. And now that Google has recently announced the Google Home Max, an upcoming Sonos-like multi-room premium speaker that will have all of the Google Assistant features built-in, I decided to go that route instead of purchasing more Sonos speakers.I am very happy with the Play:5's sound and features, but I will be holding off on purchasing any more Sonos speakers until I can hear the Google Home Max in person. Unless, of course, Sonos finally makes their speakers compatible with Google Home so I can control them with my voice. My guess is that the Google Home Max speaker will happen first.
