It stopped working with my phone. It now says my phone is outdated and Sonos refuses to work with it. So at this point for me the Sonos that i bought is unusable.

i own this - it fails to play clearly - audio drop outs happen too frequently due to bad netwok buffering. sonos custoemr service has not been able to provide a solution. given up on sonos, and use another brand.

Absolutely love this product. Just the little things that make life more enjoyable! I've hooked it up to our existing in house speakers and whole house intercom system to play music inside and also to Sonos speakers to play music outside. (2 Zones) Now with the Sonos app, we can control music on the iPhone from anywhere in the house.

We own 2 of the Sonos Play1 speakers and think they are awesome. We purchased this device in order to tie in our existing stereo system and Infinity speakers with these. Sounded like a great idea. The first unit we were shipped was defective and had extremely poor sound quality and static on the stereo system. This was replaced by Sonos. Getting someone from their customer service to contact us was a challenge and took a few days. The new unit is functioning however the sound quality is much inferior to any component we have connected to our system in the past. We understand that different music sources have different audio qualities...but all are below our standards on this device. If you need high quality sound, this is not for you.

Perfect for a system that is already setup. Works great. Allows us to build a whole house system without running wire in the future!

needs a rack mounted multichannel version which can serve as a hub for folks with automation systems. The control4 integration is weak as hell and needs to be fixed.

Great product! Robust, very easy to install and easy to use. The only "tricky" issue I found was the installation of my iTunes library. For this specific point, the installation instructions are vague. After a few efforts I realised that the iTunes folder on my PC had to become "shareable" with the Sonos Connect before the library could be loaded. Otherwise all good!

First of all I would like to thank all the techno people who answer all the questions we non-techno ask but here is my take on Sonos Connect now that I figured it all out and everything works.1. If the only thing you want to do is stream music from your phone to your current wired receiver and wired speakers you can save a whole bunch of money by just buying HomeSpot NFC-Enabled Bluetooth Audio Receiver for Sound System - $26.54. It takes 2 minutes and you can stream music from your phone to your Stereo. I used this for months and had absolutely no problem with it.2. If however you want to have music all over the house, using wireless speakers, that is where you need Sonus. Streaming music is simple, just add each device and Music subscriptions using the phone app.3. But I wanted to use my receiver and my turntable and my cd player and stream whatever I was listening to all over the house. And to all the people who would say "Just download the album or cd", lots of my albums and cds are not available on the internet. So this is where it gets interesting. First of all, your turntable may not have a pre-amp and therefore it will not work on Sonus but fortunately there is a simple solution, buy a preamp from Amazon for something like $8, I bought a Plye PP999 Phone Turntable Pre-amp. Run your RCA wire from your turntable to the pre-amp to the Line In on the Connect. Ha, I am listening to my Gino Vannelli "A Pauper in Paradise" album right now.4. But then I also wanted to listen to CDs and there is only one Line In into the Connect. Super easy fix, there are audio/video switches for a couple of bucks that can carry several Line In RCA wires on one side and there is one Line Out that goes to the Line In of the Connect. So all you have to do is flip the switch between Turntable and CD player and you are good to go.As a non techno this took me an entire morning to figure all this out so hopefully this review helps at least one other person thinking about buying Sonos and wanting to play all their albums and cds all over the house. Enjoy

Sonos is the perfect music system for most people, and if you are like me and rely on your amp/receiver and speakers for music, the connect is by far the best solution out there. The app, its integration with Spotify and your HD's music library is seamless and fool proof. I have been a happy customer of Sonos for years and will highly recommend their products to my F&F.

Sonos Rocks!

By REM on August 02, 2017

Although I don't use the Sonos speakers, I have been using their other components for several years. I recently decided to expand the system into another room and all it took was adding this component to my sound system. Setup is very easy and updates are easier. I also like the fact that Sonos makes apps to control the system with a wide variety of devices. One of the features I really like is that you can disable the status light on the unit...I wish I could do that on all of my other electronic equipment. I normally operate my system from my Android smart phone. Although a bit on the pricey side, I don't want to be without it!
